Inhabitants of Canterbury (1546)
The churchwardens' accounts of the parish of St Andrew, Canterbury were transcribed by Charles Cotton and printed in Archaeologia Cantiana. Apart from the churchwardens themselves, the people mentioned are largely tenants, parishioners dying whose obits and bequests augmented the church funds, and workmen tending to the fabric of the church.

Citizens of Oxford
(1509-1583)
These selections from the Oxford city records were printed in 1880 under the direction of the Town Clerk. Much of the material comes from the council minutes: 24 common councillors were elected out of the citizens at large each 30 September. Apart from the general administration of the city, a large number of cases involve people brought before the Council for using improper language, or other misbehaviour. There is an almost unbroken series of hanasters, or admissions to freedom of the city, listing the names of those who by purchase, birth or apprenticeship were admitted to the guild merchant.WEBB. Lincoln's Inn is one of the ancient inns of court in London exclusively invested with the right to call lawyers to the English bar. The Black Books of Lincoln's Inn are the main administrative records of the society, containing the names of those filling the different offices year by year; the annual accounts of the Pensioner and the Treasurer; regulations; punishments and fines for misdemeanours.
