Western Unitarian Society
(1842) 'The Society of Unitarian Christians, established in the West of England, for promoting Christian Knowledge, and the Practice of Virtue, by distributing Books' was founded 6 September 1792 at Crediton, with a total of 28 members, 7 enrolled on the day of the meeting. In 1842, on the 50th anniversary, the society published a list of those 28 original members, together with a much longer list of the names and addresses of the then present members.
