Harley family papers
(1690-1708)
This collection of letters and papers is particularly interesting in that it includes a file of petitions and memorials to queen Anne from 1704 to 1708, and a similar file of petitions to Robert Harley in his post as Secretary of State during the same years. Citizens of London
(1768)
The poll of the livery of London for four citizens to represent the city in Parliament took place at Guildhall from 16 to 23 March 1768, the candidates being the Rt Hon Thomas Harley (H), sir Robert Ladbroke (L), sir Richard Glyn (G), William Beckford (B), Barlow Trecothick (T), John Paterson (P) and John Wilkes (W). This poll book lists all the voters by initial letter of surname, and then company by company, giving full name (surname first), address, and votes cast.HAMILL. Masters of Merchantmen at Charleston (1788)
The custom house at Charleston, South Carolina, reported ships entered inwards, cleared outwards and sailed. These give the type of vessel, the name of the vessel, surname of the master, and (for ships arriving) whence they had come, or (for ships departing) their proposed destination. Most of the traffic was with other American ports (over 700 ships a year), Britain (about 150), and the West Indies.

The Universal British Directory was published in five volumes, starting in 1791. The professions included in the London section are very diverse: the addresses are mostly from central London.
