On the outbreak of the War of the Austrian Succession against various European powers, there was a muster in Rhode Island for the defence of the colony, and privateers were manned to harry Spanish, and later French, shipping. Howard M Chapin compiled this comprehensive list of soldiers and sailors from the surviving records.

Adultery Trial Witness Statements (1770)
Richard lord Grosvenor sued Henrietta lady Grosvenor, his wife, for adultery. Detailed statements of evidence were provided by various servants and others attached to the family. Each deposition is prefixed by details of the witness's address, trade, and age. Apart from the main witnesses, many others are mentioned in these depositions.

A loyal address from the Steward, Bailiffs and principal inhabitants of the ancient borough of Cirencester condemning 'so ill-founded and so unnatural a Rebellion' as that in the American Colonies, and expressing wholehearted loyalty to Crown and Parliament, was presented to king George III, 14 November 1775, 'Which Address His Majesty was pleased to receive very graciously.'
