(The sample scan is from the 34th foot). The register is essentially a register of recommendations, but from 1877-8 onwards there are also details of the issue of the medals. The 2nd battalion was sent out to India in October 1873.

The regiment returned to England from Gibraltar in 1876, and was sent out to Ireland in 1880.

In December 1877 the regiment was sent to India; in September 1879 it was moved into Afghanistan, being brought back into India in October 1880.
