Each annual report of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners included a list of excluded members, arranged by branch. The great majority of the exclusions were for non-payment of entrance money or arrears, but other reasons are cited from time to time - fraud; bringing the society into discredit; dishonesty; entering the society under false pretences; working contrary to the society's interest; not being a competent workman. In most cases names are given in full.

The Institute of Civil Engineers was established by charter of George IV in 1828. The four classes of the institution were the Members, Associates, Graduates and Honorary Members. This membership list, corrected to 1 January 1867, lists members alphabetically by surname and christian name, with date of election (or, for those who had previously been associates, date of election as associate (A) and date of transfer to member (M)), and address.ASHCROFT. | South Shropshire Poll Book: Ludlow

The poll book of the election, November 1868, for the Southern Division of Shropshire, is arranged by polling district, and then by parish, township, &c., showing the votes cast (H, Herbert; C, Corbett; M, More), the number on the electoral register, and the full name of the voter, surname first. Where a person had voting qualification in more than one parish, the name is given in each place, but with a cross-reference to the parish list with the entry the vote(s) cast. At the head of each column of register numbers there is a letter in bold indicating the polling district - A, Bishop's Castle; B, Bridgnorth; C, Church Stretton; D, Cleobury Mortimer; E, Clun; F, Ludlow; G, Pontesbury; H, Shiffnal; I, Wenlock.ASHCROFT. | Congregationalist Ministers: Removals
(1868-1869)
In 'The Christian Witness and Congregational Magazine', published monthly, was a section called 'The Congregational Register', detailing recent Congregationalist activity at home and abroad. It included Ordinations; Recognitions (services when a new minister is introduced to his congregation); Calls Accepted (newly-qualified theological students are appointed to their first posts); Removals (of ministers from one place to another); Resignations; Deaths of Ministers; Deaths of Ministers' Wives; Deaths of Ministers' Widows; and Testimonials (presentations by congregations to long-serving or departing ministers). Precise dates and places are usually given in the case of ordinations, recognition services and deaths. The ministers are referred to by surname and initials; the ministers' wives and widows are never given christian name or initials.
