(1844) The Camden Society for the Publication of Early Historical and Literary Remains was one of the leading antiquarian societies of its age. 1200 members paid £1 per annum in advance and received gratis whatever volumes were published by the society during the year. Members who paid an additional £10 thereby compounded for future subscription, and are indicated in this membership list (corrected to 2 May 1844) by the letter (c.).POLLARD. | Prisoners dying in Millbank Prison
(1844) The new prison at Millbank was used as a holding centre for convicts destined for the hulks: 'few of the adult convicts remain for a longer period than three months; and of those who remain for a longer period, the most part are criminals of the worst description, who are awaiting embarkation for their final destination in Norfolk Island.' The report of the commissioners appointed to inquire into the management of the prison includes a return of prisoners who died in the prison from 5 September 1843 to 21 June 1846, giving: Name; Age; Date of Reception; Date of Death; Cause of Death; State of Health when received; Whether an Inquest was held.

(1845) Two key battles in the destruction of the Sikh army prior to annexation of the Punjab by the British army of the Sutlege (Sutlej) under His Excellency Sir Hugh Gough took place at Moodkee on 18 December and Ferozeshuhur (Ferozeshaah) 21 and 22 December 1845. This is the official return of the British officers killed and wounded in the two engagements: the bulk of losses were to Her Majesty's 9th, 31st, 50th, 62nd and 80th Regiments of Foot, the 3rd Light Dragoons, 42nd Light Infantry, the 1st European Light Infantry, the 12th and 14th Native Infantry, and the artillery.POLLARD. (1845) Perry's Bankrupt and Insolvent Gazette, issued monthly, included lists of insolvents petitioning the courts of bankruptcy, together with subsequent stages in their discharge. The insolvent is generally referred to by name (surname first, in capitals), address and trade. The initial notice of the petition gives the surnames of the Commissioner and the Official Assignee. | Railway Subscription Contracts
(1845) £21,386,703 6s 4d was promised by about 10,000 subscribers of less than £2,000 per contract to the nearly 200 railway bills deposited in the Private Bill Office during the Session of Parliament for 1845. This alphabetical list gives the full names of the subscribers (surname first), description (i. e., occupation), place of abode, a numerical reference to the title of the railway, the amount subscribed to each, and total.
