This abstract of the archives from the beginning of the second Session of the second Parliament of queen Anne, 3 December 1706, to the end of the first Parliament of Great Britain, 15 April 1708, was prepared by F. W. Lascelles and C. K. Davidson and printed in 1921 in continuation of the volumes issued under the authority of the Historical Manuscripts Commission.

In South-Britain, or England' gives the names (and often the annual salaries) of the government functionaries, civil servants, churchmen and military, systematically arranged section by section. Section 26 lists officers belonging to his Majesty's General Letter Office in Lombard Street, including clerks, sorters and porters.

The extensive subscription list for 1777 to the annual Racing Calendar first gives the names of the nobility, then the other subscribers county by county for England, with separate sections for Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Initials or christian names are stated only occasionally.

These are the headquarters papers of sir Henry Clinton, British commander-in-chief during the American war of independence. Many of the individuals recorded were part of the British military administration, but others are refugees and merchants whose lives had been disrupted by the conflict. These records are from August 1779 to June 1782.
