The Royal Kalendar lists officials in the British colonies, arranged by continent: in Gibraltar, Malta, the United States of the Ionian Islands (Corfu, Cephalonia, Zante, St Maura, Ithaca, Cerigo and Paxo), and Heligoland in Europe; in Lower Canada, Upper Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunwick, the Island of Prince Edward, Newfoundland, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Honduras, Barbadoes, St Vincent, Grenada, Tobago, Trinidad, St Lucia, Antigua, Montserrat, St Christopher's, Nevis, the Virgin Islands, Dominica, British Guiana, Berbice and Bermuda in the Americas; Ceylon, New South Wales, Van Diemen's Land, Western Australia and South Australia in Asia (and Australasia); Cape of Good Hope, St Helena, Mauritius, Sierra Leone and Gambia in Africa.

Non-commissioned officers and men of the Royal Artillery discharged and recommended for medals and gratuities. The lists state rank, name, battalion or corps, and length of service (in years and months). The good conduct medals were at this period by no means issued automatically: only outstanding soldiers were recommended. The lists themselves are lists of recommendations, not necessarily of award of medal and/or gratuity, though in most cases the award would naturally follow. Where an award was not made, the reason is usually given. Where a man's name is crossed through it should not be assumed that he was deleted from the list: sometimes the name is crossed through when the medal has been dispatched. | Passengers Arriving at Mobile, Alabama (1841)
The custom house at Mobile, Alabama, issued daily reports of the arrivals and clearing of merchantmen. The lists give the type and name of vessel, surname of master, whence arrived or whither departed, and the name of the shipper. Most of the trade was with American ports and Britain. The passenger lists printed in the Alabama Commercial Register and Patriot are generally restricted to surnames, with the occasional initial, christian name or title (Mr, Dr, Capt, Judge &c)
