'Poll Book at the Election of a Knight of the Shire for the County of the Isle of Wight taken on the 10th day of June, 1870. Candidates: - George Moffatt, Esq. and Baillie Cochrane, Esq.' The electors are listed by polling district (Newport, Ryde, Ventnor, West Cowes and Yarmouth), in three categories - those who voted for Moffatt, those for Cochrane, and those unpolled - giving full name and place of abode.

This list of Town Members is arranged alphabetically within fifteen districts (1 City; 2 Strand, Bloomsbury; 3 Pentonville, Islington, Highbury, Holloway; 4 Soho, St James's, Marylebone; 5 Camden Town, Kentish Town, Hampstead, Highgate; 6 Regent's Park, St John's Wood, Kilburn; 7 Paddington, Bayswater, Notting Hill, Acton, Ealing; 8 Brompton, Kensington, Hammersmith; 9 Westminster, Pimlico, Chelsea, Fulham; 10 Bishopsgate Without, Shoreditch, Finsbury, City Road, Hoxton; 11 Kingsland, De Beauvoir Town, Mildmay Park, Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill, Tottenham, Edmonton; 12 Whitechapel, Docks, Stepney, Limehouse, Poplar, Plaistow, Barking; 13 Spitalfields, Hackney Road, Bethnal Green, Mile End, Bow, Old Ford, Stratford; 14 Dalston, Hackney, Homerton, Clapton; 15 Southwark). The matriculation list of the University of London published in January 1870 shows all the students entering the university 1865 to 1869, but who had not yet taken an examination. Gun & Co. of 6 Prince of Wales' Road, London, in about 1870 published this fourth 'List of Next of Kin & Heirs, &c., who have been Advertised for in the English, Irish, Scotch, United States of America, Canadian, Australian, East and West Indian, and other Newspapers, since 1704. Money & Property to the value of many Millions Sterling want Claimants'. The list of 4,128 names gives surname, christian name, and, occasionally, locality. Copies of the actual advertisements were furnished to enquirers by the company at a cost of six shillings.

The Baptist Messenger was produced monthly. The material indexed is mainly the Denominational Intelligence, i. e. the doings of the Baptist churches in Britain and Ireland, including summary lists of baptisms naming only the ministers. There are also some Baptist obituaries, and lists of donations to the Pastors' College at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London.

The Royal Medical Benevolent College at Epsom in Surrey was founded in 1853 for the orphans of the medical profession, and evolved to become a public school still largely catering for sons of doctors and surgeons. In 1955 this register of pupils, from 1855 to 1954, edited by T. R. Thomson, was published. The sample scan is from 1880. The entries are arranged alphabetically by surname under year of entrance to the school; surname first (in bold), christian names, and then (in most cases), the father's name, occupation and address: then the boy's year of birth (b.), year of leaving (l.), occupation, and, where known, year of death (d.) This is the index to the year 1871, when the Reverend William de Lancy West was headmaster.

Return, “with Christian and Surname of each, of Infants Born in Irish Workhouses, or Admitted thereto when Healthy under Twelve Months Old, and attempted to be Reared therein during the Years 1872 to 1874, showing what has since become of them”. The returns from each poor law union workhouse give: Christian and Surname of Infant Born in the Workhouse, or Admitted Healthy, under Twelve Months; Year; and whether discharged, healthy, in hospital, or dead.
