The membership lists of the National Provident Institution were issued in separate volumes for Town (i. e., London and vicinity) and Country members. This list of Town Members is arranged alphabetically within fifteen districts (1 City; 2 Strand, Bloomsbury; 3 Pentonville, Islington, Highbury, Holloway; 4 Soho, St James's, Marylebone; 5 Camden Town, Kentish Town, Hampstead, Highgate; 6 Regent's Park, St John's Wood, Kilburn; 7 Paddington, Bayswater, Notting Hill, Acton, Ealing; 8 Brompton, Kensington, Hammersmith; 9 Westminster, Pimlico, Chelsea, Fulham; 10 Bishopsgate Without, Shoreditch, Finsbury, City Road, Hoxton; 11 Kingsland, De Beauvoir Town, Mildmay Park, Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill, Tottenham, Edmonton; 12 Whitechapel, Docks, Stepney, Limehouse, Poplar, Plaistow, Barking; 13 Spitalfields, Hackney Road, Bethnal Green, Mile End, Bow, Old Ford, Stratford; 14 Dalston, Hackney, Homerton, Clapton; 15 Southwark). Petroleum Licences: St Pancras (1875)
Under the provisions of the Petroleum Act of 1871, the London Metropolitan Board of Works was given the power to grant annual licences to the owners of premises which had been inspected and certified as fit for the storage of petroleum. The lists state parish or district; name (surname first); case number; address (including house number); quantity to be kept, in gallons, and the nature of the storage facility. July to December 1875.

Private Residents of Birmingham and Suburbs (1878)
The Post Office Directory of Birmingham with its Suburbs, edited by E. R. Kelly, and published in 1878, has two main alphabetical lists - Court and Commercial. The suburbs included are Aston, Bickenhill Park, Birchfield End, Castle Bromwich, Erdington, Saltley (with Washwood Heath), Ward End (including Little Bromwich) and Witton, in Warwickshire; Handsworth (with Soho), Harborne, Perry Barr and Smethwick, in Staffordshire; and King's Heath, King's Norton, Moseley, Northfield, Selly Oak and Yardley (including Hall Green and Stechford) in Worcestershire. The Court section, indexed here, lists nobility, gentry, clergy, and private residents in general.

Kelly's Directory of Surrey includes this alphabetical Court Directory, listing private residents in the county. In fact, this listing is a little more comprehensive than the main directory, in that it includes residents of some London suburbs that, although in the county of Surrey, are not included in the Surrey directory. Residents are listed surname first, then christian name or initials, and postal address.

Ackworth Old Scholars: Berkshire & Oxfordshire Quarterly Meeting (1898)
The Quaker school at Ackworth in Yorkshire commenced in 1779. At the General Meeting of 1882 the Ackworth Old Scholars' Association was established, and a full list of members was printed in their annual proceedings. This list, corrected to 1 October 1898, gives full names (including married women's maiden surnames) and addresses, arranged, for those living in England, by quarterly meeting, and then with separate lists for England, Scotland, and other countries. We have indexed these separately, and included maiden surnames.
