(The sample scan is from the 34th foot). The register is essentially a register of recommendations, but from 1877-8 onwards there are also details of the issue of the medals. The regiment returned to England from South Africa in 1879.

The regiment was sent from England to Ireland in 1876; on to South Africa in 1877 (where it added "South Africa 1877-79" to the regimental honours); and thence to India in 1879.
