These collectors generally received duty just from their own county, but sometimes from further afield. The indentures themselves can date from a year or two earlier than this return. The Convicts' Office of New South Wales 16 January 1836 issued this list made 9 November 1835 of inhabitants to whom male convicts had been assigned to work as servants or farm workers. The list gives each inhabitant's surname, christian name (or rank), address, and number of convicts and for what work.
