The Civil Service Commission issued a monthly report listing certificates issued to civil servants of various grades on their initial appointment (whether after open competition, or without); assignments to higher grades; and transfers between departments. This is the report for June 1937: the sample scan is from the listing for post office clerks. The admiralty lists cover clerks and a shorthand typist; women tracers; junior assistants; pensioner clerks and established storemen in H. M. naval establishments; established civilian employees; technical officers, artificers, and an assistant II in the technical pool of the Scientific Research and Experiment Department; engine fitters, shipwrights, ship fitters, electrical fitters, skilled labourers, joiners, founders, labourers, a patternmaker, a hosemaker, a boilermaker, a stoker and a coppersmith in H. M. dockyards and naval establishments around the world; a local clerk and a constablev in H. M. dockyard, Malta; an established messenger; a pharmacist in Royal Naval hospitals; and assistants in H. M. Nautical Almanac Office.
